Recurrent grants

These grants paid usually weekly allowances, often of up to the current disregard level. (The disregard level is the maximum income a person on Income support can receive in addition to their Income support calculations. The current disregard is £20 a week in most cases.) These payments can be made quarterly (each year the applicant receives four grants of up to £260 each), or in smaller, more regular amounts.

Weekly payments can be higher than this, particularly if the applicant requires expensive treatment/medicine on a regular basis, or has some other high ongoing cost.

Some trusts will give either one-off or recurrent payments according to what is more appropriate for the applicant.
